United States Army Marksmanship Unit / Service Rifle Marksmanship Guide - All about shooting the M14 and M16 rifles.  The book is 187 pages of information about improving marksmanship and shooting these two service rifles in competition.  The book covers: equipment, training, coaching, physical conditioning, aiming, sighting, zeroing, weather conditions, scorebook use, trigger control, sight alignment, dry firing, error correction, conducting matches, etc.  "Click" HERE to see PAGE 44 of the book.  This 8.5" X 11" size book is 187 pages in length, uses 24# paper, and is wire coil bound with 19 mil polypropylene cover and back.  The book lays flat - unlike the much cheaper stapled originals that used 20# paper with velum covers.  As you can see from PAGE 44, the pictures are nicely done and quite viewable.  This Army publication actually seems to compliment the USMC Competitive Rifle Data Book found on the M14 WEBSITE

History Of Rifles, Revolvers, And Pistols / 1917 - 1919 (WWI)

Army Ordnance 1917 - 1919 History Of Rifles, Revolvers, And Pistols (1920) - A serious examination of the small arms used by American Troops in World War I.  Excellent history given - thoroughly discussing the M1903 Springfield, and the M1917 Enfield - followed by a comparison of the strength and weaknesses of each. Also included are the costs of production, design criteria, development history and production problems, etc.  An excellent overview of the development, design, production requirements, capabilities, and cost for the Colt's M1911 pistol is discussed.  Additionally, information is provided concerning the use of the Smith & Wesson Caliber .45 revolver, and the problems associated with the Caliber .38 revolver in combat.  Several comparison charts are provided showing use, numbers, and disposition of the various small arms.  Several pictures of the previously discussed firearms are presented - "Click" HERE to see PAGE 36.  This 8.5" X 11" size pamphlet is 36 pages in length and is stapled.  All writing and pictures are clear and detailed.  I have seen printed manuals go for well over $20.00 each that are about half the printed size on 6" X 9" paper.  If you just want the facts with excellent charts and pictures, you can purchase this pamphlet at about one third the price.
